Now Open: ‘Isamu Noguchi at Lever House’, New York

Bringing together sculptures, architectural drawings, and a special presentation of Akari light sculptures, ‘Isamu Noguchi at Lever House’ is on view throughout the courtyard, plaza and lobby of the landmark modernist building in New York.

At the heart of the exhibition is Noguchi’s ‘Model for the Lever Brothers Building’ (1952), presented within one of Lever House’s original lobby vitrines designed by Gordon Bunshaft, alongside architectural drawings related to the unrealised commission. These are presented alongside sculptures that reveal how ideas first explored for Lever House continued to evolve throughout Noguchi’s practice.

Installed against Lever House’s iconic glass-and-steel curtain wall and throughout its public spaces, these works establish a direct dialogue with one of the defining achievements of twentieth-century architecture.

📍 ‘Isamu Noguchi at Lever House’ is on view until 31 August 2027 at Lever House, New York.
