You’re eating more protein than ever and you’re softer than you were at 40.

I’m 50, a holistic nutritionist with over twenty years support women’s metabolic health and hormones. Adding the protein is the easy part. Here are the five things I fix first.

	1.	Where it’s coming from. Bars, shakes, anything with a protein claim on the front. You hit the number and you ate a food product. It leaves a lot of women bloated and inflamed, and you’d never blame the 3pm bar.
	2.	How much landed in one sitting. Protein is the hardest thing on your plate to break down. Load it into one meal and you’ll feel it all afternoon. Spread out, it’s easier to digest.
	3.	Whether any of it is moving. Bowel movements nowhere near daily. Estrogen and progesterone changes slow motility down, and all the protein in the world won’t help if it’s sitting there.
	4.	Whether you can break it down. Bloating after meals, heartburn, waking up nauseous. That’s usually low stomach acid. Without enough acid the food sits too long and ferments, and that’s the pressure coming back up.
	5.	Whether anything is telling your body to build. Protein is the raw material. Something has to request the build, and that’s resistance training with real load. Walking is great for blood sugar. It won’t hold muscle.

A client came to me tracking macros and training hard with a trainer. If it fit her macros, she ate it. Her fibre was low and her belly was distended. We never touched her training. We fixed her digestion, steadied her blood sugar and raised her food quality. Her energy got better, her sleep got better, her recovery got better, and twenty pounds came off. Now we’re raising her macros.

Liver. Digestion. Blood sugar. Cortisol. Thyroid. Fix that order and the protein finally does something.

Comment STACKING and I’ll send you my free Hormone Stacking Method Quick Reference Guide. Make sure you’re following me so it lands in your DMs.

Send this to the friend who hits her protein daily and can’t see why nothing changes.
