World Taekwondo has launched a new Sustainable Competition Management case study series on September 17, a symbolic date for the sport as the opening day of Taekwondo’s first Olympic appearance as a demonstration sport at the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games.

The series shows how far Taekwondo has developed since then – not only as an Olympic sport, but also as a platform for sustainability, inclusion, youth development, innovation and responsible event delivery.

The first three case studies feature events in Uzbekistan, China and the United Kingdom, with examples covering youth engagement, sport innovation, Para Poomsae integration, resource efficiency and sustainable event delivery.
