Macklemore was opening on Ed’s Loop Tour, using his sets to publicly voice his support for Palestine 🇵🇸 

Multiple stadium owners later refusing to host upcoming shows if he remained on the lineup…

Ed Sheeran responded to the situation by explaining that while he has his own political views, he chooses not to use his professional platform for politics. Macklemore, meanwhile, has continued to stand behind his decision to speak out, arguing that artists with large platforms have a responsibility to use them when they believe something is wrong 🤝

The situation has only continued to grow, with FINNEAS, Lukas Graham and Aaron Rowe withdrawing from upcoming dates in solidarity with Macklemore. Sheeran’s longtime collaborators and touring band Beoga have also stepped away, leaving the “Loop Tour” without its previously scheduled supporting acts as the conversation surrounding artists, political expression and censorship continues.
