Benedict College Scholars Selected for Inaugural NBEC HBCU Fellowship

Benedict College proudly celebrates three outstanding scholars selected for the Inaugural HBCU Fellowship Cohort of the National Black Empowerment Council (NBEC), an honor that recognizes emerging Black leaders committed to advancing knowledge, opportunity, and transformational change.

The National Black Empowerment Council, a U.S.-based nonprofit leadership organization founded in 2021, works to address systemic gaps in wealth, influence, and opportunity through education, leadership development, and cross-sector collaboration.

Representing Benedict College are:

🎓 Jacob Holmes, a junior Finance major from Columbia, South Carolina

🧠 TyDarrius White, a sophomore Neuroscience major from Columbus, Georgia

📈 Nala Uter, a senior Marketing major from Fort Mill, South Carolina

Through this fellowship, Jacob, TyDarrius, and Nala will have the opportunity to deepen their leadership capacity, expand their professional networks, and engage in interdisciplinary conversations that address the social and economic challenges shaping the future of Black communities.

Congratulations, Jacob, TyDarrius, and Nala! Your achievement represents the very best of TheBESTofBC and exemplifies Benedict College’s enduring commitment to scholarship, leadership, and service.
