📚 unesco found that one in four teachers reported a high need for professional development to better support learners with disabilities.

This highlights the urgent requirement for practical training that helps educators turn the principles of inclusion into everyday practice.

Today, in response, the Special Olympics Global Center for Inclusion in Education, is launching the Unified Champion Schools® Inclusion Academy.

Built on more than 50 years of Special Olympics experience, the Academy draws on the power of sport to bring people together, challenge perceptions and create opportunities for people of all abilities to participate and lead.
Its competency-based online micro-credential equips educators, coaches and school leaders with evidence, practical strategies and real-world examples they can apply across classrooms, schools and sports settings.
Special Olympics athletes and youth leaders also bring the learning to life through videos sharing their personal stories and lived insights.

Over the next four years, the Academy will prepare 250 regional trainers to help train 6,000 educators across every Special Olympics region.
