📕 2022: A revanche built on consistency,

At the end of 2021, after battling with physical and #mentalhealth issues, through multiple seasons, I considered ending my career. Injuries, lack of playing time, confidence issues… Many had me finished and made it known to others that I wasn’t a player teams could rely on. It was difficult times and the thought of potentially saying “stop” at 28 and starting a new chapter in my life was scaring me because I felt I was not prepared for.

Right before last Christmas, I received a call from the newly appointed coach of themiamifc . He believed I was still the same player and with my experience, I had a lot more to give. With this potential new #challenge ahead I intended to prove to myself and others that I still had what it takes to perform and be competitive. And I couldn’t be more proud of how this season unfolded.

Even though we fell short of our ambitions as a team, on a personal level I beat all my expectations and consistency was the key to my 7th year as a professional. I played 35 games, mostly on artificial grass, logging 2917min (more than my last 4 years combined), adding 5 goals and 8 assists to my tally. More than the stats, and most importantly, I rediscovered the love for the game, how grateful I was to wake up every morning and do the thing I love the most. Because without happiness my performance would not be the same. Few knows what I had to go through physically and emotionally over the last few years. Staying healthy for most of the season while mostly playing on artificial grass is my biggest achievement of the year, a statement that my body can hold up.

But I did not do it alone. I owe a lot to this organization, the coach and his staff, of course my teammates and every other person within the themiamifc family. Football is a team sport where alone you cannot grow and achieve what nobody think is possible. So Thank you. I am excited for what’s next, to continue to build on what was achieved this year because I am never satisfied. Can’t wait to be back next season even stronger and with higher #ambitions.

Shut the noise & Truly #believe in yourself
