This is tuff🔥 NC State soccer player Drew Lovelace just became a KICKER for the NC State football team 🤯

And the story of how he got here is wild.

After helping NC State reach the College Cup last season, a court ruling opened the door for Drew to return for a fifth year. He came back and played 55 minutes in NC State’s season opener.

ONE DAY LATER, the ruling was stayed on appeal and Drew could no longer compete in soccer under it. Shortly after, while looking for jobs to pivot from his soccer career, the football staff presented the opportunity to tryout and he made the team🔥

Coach Dave Doeren said just two weeks earlier Drew didn’t even know how to put on a football helmet. Now he’s handling kickoffs at Carter-Finley😮‍💨

And this isn’t just any soccer player either. Drew played all 23 games for NC State last season, scored 5 goals, and scored in the NCAA Elite Eight during the Pack’s run to the College Cup. Baller fr💫

Super cool to see Drew making the most out of a crazy situation and finding a way to still rep NC State for one more year ❤️🐺
