Who is Brendan Murphy?

Brendan Murphy brings together painting, sculpture, mathematics, language, and pop culture. His work ranges from expressive paintings layered with handwritten equations and symbols to his instantly recognizable Boonji Spaceman, a recurring figure that represents taking a leap into the unknown. Murphy’s monumental 23-foot Boonji Spaceman, which stands outside the Art Museum of the Americas in Washington, D.C.

From canvas to monumental sculpture, Murphy’s work is ultimately about looking forward, embracing possibility, and taking the next step.
