Meet Dr. Samir Islam — bringing local roots and a patient-first approach to eye care at Nuvo Eye Centre 👓

Born and raised in the Ottawa area, Dr. Islam always hoped his career would eventually bring him home. 

After earning his Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston and gaining clinical experience in both Canada and the United States, he returned to care for patients in the community where he grew up.

One of the things Dr. Islam values most about Nuvo Eyes is its family atmosphere — a close-knit team and a welcoming environment where patients can feel comfortable, heard and cared for.

His approach is equally personal. Rather than treating eye care as one-size-fits-all, Dr. Islam takes the time to understand each patient’s concerns, lifestyle and individual vision needs.
