Red Bull turned Sebastian Vettel’s RB8 into a METRO TRAIN. 🏎️➡️🚇🤯

What happens when you take a Formula 1 car that was built to attack race tracks and put it on a railway?

Red Bull apparently decided to find out. 😂

The car in question is the RB8, the machine Sebastian Vettel drove during the 2012 Formula 1 season. Powered by a Renault 2.4-liter V8, the RB8 was designed around one goal: extracting maximum performance from every corner, straight and braking zone.

But this time, it wasn't going racing.

Red Bull mounted the F1 car onto a specially prepared railway platform, creating a bizarre combination of Formula 1 engineering and public transport. Instead of racing around a circuit, the RB8 was taken along a metro/rail route as part of a promotional stunt.

And the contrast is absolutely ridiculous.

A Formula 1 car normally has four tiny contact patches with the track, enormous aerodynamic loads and a suspension system designed specifically for racing. A metro train, meanwhile, is built to carry hundreds of passengers smoothly and safely along steel rails.

Put the two together and you get something that looks like it belongs in a video game. 😭

The RB8 itself was no ordinary F1 car either.

Sebastian Vettel won five races with the RB8 during the 2012 season and eventually secured his third consecutive World Championship after a dramatic season finale in Brazil.

So seeing that same championship-winning-era F1 machine being transported like a train is one of those wonderfully weird motorsport moments.

It wasn't about making the RB8 a functional metro train — it was about turning an iconic racing machine into something people would never expect to see on railway tracks.

From 300+ km/h race tracks to railway tracks… Red Bull really said, “Why not?” 🚇🏁
