Today, we are crowning Ecuadorian-American multidisciplinary artist, designer, educator, and entrepreneur Maria “Toofly” Castillo as our #QueenoftheWeek 👑

Born in Ecuador and raised in New York City, Toofly discovered graffiti as a teenager and became one of the most influential women in New York’s street art scene. Her colorful murals and illustrations have appeared around the world and helped pave the way for generations of women artists.

To create more space for women within the art form, Toofly founded the Ladies Love Project, a collective creating inspiring environments for independent artists across art, fashion, and music, and hosts events in New York and Los Angeles.

Today, Toofly continues to share her knowledge and experiences with the next generation of artists. Her work has also been featured in Graffiti Women, Street Art by Women, and the award-winning documentary, Street Heroines.
Thank you, Queen, for making your mark, opening doors, and proving that there is always room to create something of your own. 💜

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re crowning and raising the voices of Hispanic & Latinx artists, activists, and icons who have made HER-story. #SIXBroadway #SIXUSTour
