What do you think The Police's 1983 hit Every Breath You Take is about?

Lead vocalist of the English rock band says the hit single is debated as a love song or a "song about a stalker".

Either way, Sting says it’s “not important” what he thinks, and divulging his thoughts to fans would be as wrong as “telling a joke and explaining it”, he tells BBC Presenter Laura Kuenssberg.

The Grammy Award-winning artist is stepping onto the West End next week to debut The Last Ship, a musical loosely based on his upbringing around the ship building industry in the north east of England.
