## Caption

What happens when entire villages fall silent and who will shape their future? For a reportage, Venezuelan photographer Ana Maria Arévalo Gosen (anitasinfiltro) travelled through the rural regions of Spain to explore España Vacía, a phenomenon marked by deserted villages, the loss of essential structures and the people working to preserve them. Using her #LeicaQ3, she captured both the traces of decline and the new initiatives breathing life into these areas. In the interview, she talks about moving encounters, the growing divide between city and countryside, and the hope that continues to live in landscapes that at first appear abandoned.⁣
