The greatest barrier to a liver transplant is often finding a donor. Our MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute has performed the first robotic living liver donation surgery in the D.C. metro area.

By making living liver donation less invasive through a robotic approach, we hope more people will consider giving this lifesaving gift. Every new living donor represents another patient who may not have to wait as long for a second chance.
