A therapist couldn’t get Daniel Dias to wear his prosthetic. So she taught his mother how to do it herself.

🏊 Daniel Dias | Para Swimming | 27× Paralympic Medalist

Daniel’s parents weren’t waiting for someone else to figure out what their son needed.

When his toddler-sized body fought the prosthetic every time they went to therapy, his mother, Rosana, learned to do the work herself at home, with her own hands.

They lived hours from São Paulo, so what began as constant trips to the clinic eventually became something she could manage herself.

His father, Paulo, took a different role.

After hearing a presentation about disabled athletes, he approached the speaker and asked about opportunities for his son.

That question opened the door to organized sport.

Neither parent tried to put limits around what Daniel could do. Even when he kept breaking prosthetics playing soccer, basketball and everything else he could get into, they kept rebuilding them.

Years later, Daniel became Brazil’s most decorated Paralympic swimmer, with 27 medals.

⁉️ What are you willing to learn, ask for, or rebuild so your child can keep moving forward? ⁉️

👩‍🔬 I spent years decoding what elite athlete parents actually did. The uncomfortable truth about how champions are really made.

🏘️🌴 It takes a strategic village to raise an athlete. This is your village. 🥇
