Stephen Curry wasn’t the highly touted prospect many expected to dominate the NBA. Coming out of high school, he received little attention from major college programs because many believed he was too small, too skinny, and not athletic enough to succeed at the highest level. Even after leading Davidson College on an unforgettable NCAA tournament run, critics still questioned whether his game would translate to the NBA.

Rather than trying to fit the mold of what a superstar was supposed to look like, Curry leaned into his strengths. He spent countless hours perfecting his shot, sharpening his handle, and developing a work ethic that separated him from everyone else. What many saw as limitations became the foundation of one of the greatest careers basketball has ever witnessed.

Today, Curry is a four-time NBA champion, a two-time MVP, the NBA’s all-time leader in three-pointers made, and the player who completely changed the way basketball is played around the world.
