Kiki Iriafen Leads Mystics Past Tempo for Eighth Straight Home Win

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Kiki Iriafen continued her dominant season Wednesday night, recording 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Washington Mystics to a 93-82 victory over the Toronto Tempo at CareFirst Arena.

The win marked Washington’s eighth consecutive victory at home and improved the Mystics to 21-14 on the season.

Iriafen controlled the game in the paint, shooting 8-for-12 from the field while recording her 15th double-double of the season. Shakira Austin added 11 points and 10 rebounds for her 16th double-double, helping Washington establish a decisive advantage on the glass.

The Mystics outrebounded Toronto 43-27 and consistently created opportunities inside, finishing with 38 points in the paint. Michaela Onyenwere provided an offensive spark with 14 points and four made three-pointers, while Sonia Citron contributed 13 points and six assists.

After a competitive opening quarter, Washington took control early in the second. The Mystics opened the period with a 12-0 run, turning a narrow one-point lead into a double-digit advantage. Toronto managed just nine points in the quarter as Washington entered halftime leading 47-33.

The Tempo responded with a stronger second half, scoring 49 points over the final two quarters, but Washington maintained enough separation to close out the 11-point victory.

Washington continued to build momentum on its home floor while receiving another strong performance from its frontcourt.
