Built from carbon fiber. Built by hand. The newest project in Advanced Composites and Technologies puts students through the process of building a custom carbon fiber skateboard from the ground up. From preparing the materials and laying up the carbon fiber to molding, curing, and finishing the final board, students get hands-on experience with the same composite manufacturing techniques used to build lightweight, high-strength components for aerospace, motorsports, automotive, and other demanding industries.

This isn’t just about building a skateboard. It’s about learning how to work with advanced materials and build something that performs.
