In 1966, a German engineer couldn't find a motorcycle engine big enough—so he used a car engine instead. 

The Münch Mammut was the fastest production motorcycle in the world, weighed as much as some cars, and was built one at a time in a small workshop. Most buyers were wealthy Americans who wanted something that literally didn't exist anywhere else. Fewer than 500 were ever made.
