Microsoft Research just dropped a free AI on GitHub that converts any photo into a fully textured 3D asset. The project is called TRELLIS 2.

Upload one image and you get a high-resolution 3D model with the lighting, materials, and textures locked in. Drop it straight into a game engine or 3D tool.

Where it shines is on geometry other generators can't handle. Open surfaces, hollow interiors, and weird topology come out clean.
