At 23, Djé Tavares is proof that your starting point does not define your destination.

His journey began with Alverca’s C and B teams before taking him to Santa Clara’s U23s and B team. He worked his way into the first team and now he is making his name in Portugal’s top flight.

A young man who worked in construction while chasing football. A player who dreamed of representing Cabo Verde at the World Cup. A midfielder who kept building, even when nobody was watching.
