Buckingham Palace has issued a rare and pointed response to Earl Spencer’s explosive new memoir about Princess Diana.
In 'Swan Song: Diana, My Sister,' Charles Spencer, 62, claims the future King sounded “giddily elated – like a lottery winner” after Diana’s death in 1997 and later told him: “Rest assured, we’ll forget her soon enough!”
The palace's statement suggests that the trauma of losing his sister may have coloured the Earl's recollections.
