✨Happy International Women’s Day! ✨In honor of the day, we bring you a #HumansOfZipline on the one and only Florence Haruna, one of our mighty Fulfillment Operations Lead in Ghana. Here, Florence tells us about what it was like to start delivering #COVID vaccines in Ghana towards the end of 2021.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“I remember GH-1, Omenako, last year when we received 33,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines that needed to get to districts within a short time. There was a lot of pressure. The health facilities we work with needed us to start flying that very day. They had people within the communities wanting to get immunized. The vaccines came in the late afternoon and we needed to go through the receiving process - it was a huge amount to do in a very short period of time. Our customers were calling us to tell us that they already had customers queuing outside of the clinics in the early evening to receive their vaccines. And that’s when the team came together. Even though inventory receiving is typically a responsible area of Fulfillment Operations, our Flight Operations team came on board and asked us to tell them what to do. There was no time to delay. I saw a clear ownership on the team to work together and deliver in the timing. I saw customer obsession. They really understood the customer’s goals and that the demand was high and they needed the item there and then. I saw servant leadership in the team’s willingness to serve the people…It was an incredible moment and the dedication shown by the team is something I really appreciate the team for.”
