Fabiola Urwibutso is on our Zipline Academy team and hails from Rwanda. Fabiola started off her career at Zipline as a Flight Operator and quickly transitioned into a more training-centric position, to fulfill her passion. Fabiola shared with us more about how she’s observed customer obsession in action at Zipline.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“Customer obsession is going up at Zipline. First of all, I think about this value as connected to the customers and working on their concerns, as well as giving them a better experience. This focus on the customer has evolved from the hospital visit during Zipline Academy to now having someone in charge of customer obsession full time. I see the way feeling connected to the customer lifts up team spirit when we are launching and recovering at a high volume. We are launching a Zip, it is not for ourselves but because we want the order to get to our customers. The customer obsession team is helping the team get more connected. One of the cool initiatives they ran pre-COVID was bringing health workers to the distribution center. The health workers all want to see what happens at the “drone airport.” Seeing them interacting with the team - it’s incredible.

Overall, the team is always willing to help us help the customers. For example, we had mechanical engineers from California visiting the center in Rwanda - Dan, Ibrahim, and Mihir. Most people, including them, don’t know if we ship parachute boxes complete or if we make them here. I gave them the tour the other day in FlightOps and FulOps and Fulfillment Support and they were like - ‘oh the package takes 15 minutes to make - how do we make that shorter?’ Everyone is constantly trying to figure out how to get time down to do things faster with high quality, all so the customer has a better experience.”
