Elizabeth Cobbinah is one of the first Fulfillment Operators to join our Ghana team. She has a background in Biochemistry, Teaching, and Lab Science. “I remember the first one-on-one I had with my manager, Gladys, during my first week at Zipline. She asked what I wanted to learn at Zipline and I said Supply Chain Management. I have always dreamt of being a leader in an organization that sets up health centers in rural areas and supplies them with medical products and equipment. I knew learning about Supply Chain would help me do this, and would also help me succeed at Zipline.

When I joined Zipline, we were just setting up our first center in Omenako, Ghana. I helped build out our Inventory Management SOPs for the first center, and worked with the team to get our warehouse set up and stocked. After the launch of that first center, I found out about a training in Dangerous Goods Handling that our Logistics team was organizing. Anyone could participate, and my manager encouraged me to join. I decided to go for it. I think I felt confident to get involved because of the culture of extreme ownership at Zipline. It takes time for people to understand it - but it basically means that if you’re interested in trying something new that will help you achieve your goals - just do it.

The training exposed me to new ideas and gave me most of the skills I needed to manage the logistics and procurement of goods for the second distribution center in Mpanya. That was a pretty complex process, given the different types of things we needed to acquire - from refrigerators to stationary to medical and blood products.

There are a lot of things I could say about Zipline. Outside of just expanding my knowledge into other fields, I get to be a part of a team that saves lives every day. And to succeed here? Don’t limit yourself. As long as it’s something that you dream of doing - there are always people for you to learn from. Take the initiative. Start from somewhere and you will always find someone to push you in the right direction.”
