This morning, Commissioners Merle and Dawn Heatwole spoke at a memorial service near the Pentagon to honor the lives lost 25 years ago today.

As they reflected on the tragedy of September 11, 2001, they also remembered the spirit of service that brought people together in the aftermath and continues to guide The Salvation Army today.

We will never forget those we lost, the families who continue to carry their absence and the many who responded with compassion and care in the days that followed. 🤍
