🚇 I SIGNED THE TTC RIDERS PLEDGE. I’D GOOOOOOOO FURTHER...

I have officially signed the ttcriders 2026 Candidates’ Transit Pledge.

Affordable. Reliable. Accessible. Frequent. Safe. Publicly owned.

I support those principles. But I also believe Toronto should be more ambitious.

My position is clear: I will advocate for free #TTC for high-school students and seniors.
Toronto is introducing fare capping at 47 paid rides per month, with the planned cap falling to 40 rides in 2027. After reaching the cap, additional rides are free. 

That's progress. But think about what that actually means.

Who needs to take 40 or 47 paid rides every single month before affordability finally kicks in?

For a teenager getting to school, the library, a first job or an extracurricular activity, I'd rather ask a bigger question: why shouldn't getting around their own city be part of the opportunity we give them?

For seniors, mobility means independence and connection to community.

And affordability isn't enough. The TTC has to feel worth using.

Clean stations. Clean vehicles. Reliable service. Accessibility. Safety. Infrastructure that doesn't look neglected.

Now let's raise the standard.
