## Caption

This week's @beehivemeals hero of the week is Whitney Kauhane 🐝

"On our campus, one person stands out and goes the Extra Mile for her students, the athletes, and her colleagues. Whitney Kauhane! Whitney is a special education teacher. The care she provides for her students is generous, caring, supportive, and extremely understanding. Whitney loves her students and goes above and beyond to help each of them succeed. She started Unified Track for students with disabilities and makes an effort to involve them in school dances and other school activities. She has also been a girls wrestling assistant coach for the past five years. Her dedication to the young women in the sport is unmatched. She gives her time, patience, instruction, and support to help these young women succeed both on and off the mat. Whitney has four children of her own, yet she still finds the time and patience to help other teachers. Recently, a colleague needed help; Whitney did not hesitate and opened her home to them. She is a true friend and shows it without ever seeking recognition. She is generous, caring, genuine, and loyal. Whitney is simply the best and truly deserving of this honor; she goes the Extra Mile!"
