#JayWorthy, George Clinton & LNDN DRGS’ “GENERATION P” is a full-circle West Coast moment 🛸

Today’s drop is much bigger than just a new album. It’s a living link between the origin of funk and the sound that built G-Funk.

George Clinton, the architect of P-Funk, linking up with Jay Worthy and producer Sean House (as LNDN DRGS) is the kind of collaboration that only happens when the culture actually respects its roots. Clinton’s Parliament-Funkadelic catalog is the DNA behind so much of the West Coast sound Dre, Quik, Battlecat, and Snoop built on. And “Generation P” treats that lineage like sacred material instead of a cheap sample pack.

The production stays in that LNDN DRGS pocket: warm, funky, cinematic, and unapologetically West Coast, with P-Funk energy running through the whole project. Tracks like “Knee Deep” (feat. Snoop Dogg), “Atomic P,” and “P of the Week” (feat. Larry June) make the connection obvious. Old-school funk language, modern G-Funk cool.

Features from Snoop, Larry June, Ty Dolla $ign, Channel Tres, Terrace Martin, Kokane, Curren$y, 03 Greedo, Del the Funky Homosapien, Aceyalone, Ab-Soul, YG, The Game and more turn it into an authentic and worthy (pun intended) passing of the torch.

This is why the album matters: it doesn’t just homage P-Funk. It literally puts the originator in the room with the generation that grew up on it.

Have you locked in with “Generation P” yet? And does this feel like one of the most important West Coast collabs of the year?
