Our next Old Master was proudly born and raised in the heart of Indiana! Ted McKinney graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics in 1981. During his time at Purdue, he served as Purdue Pete from '78 - '80 and he received the G.A. Ross Award as the outstanding senior male graduate. McKinney was named the Purdue Agriculture Distinguished Alumnus (2002) and received an honorary American FFA Degree in 2004. His career accomplishments include 19 years with Dow AgroSciences and 14 years with Elanco as the Director of Global Corporate Affairs. He has served on several agriculture-oriented committees including the National FFA Conventions Local Organizing Committee, Indiana State Fair Commission, International Food Information Council, the U.S. Meat Export Federation, International Federation of Animal Health, and the Purdue Dean of Agriculture Advisory Committee. While serving as director of the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, McKinney was nominated in 2017 to be the Under Secretary of Agriculture for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs. He officially was confirmed by the United States Senate in October of 2017. We can’t wait to make lasting connections and gain valuable insights from McKinney this year during our 70th Year of Old Masters!
