Our Student Body President, Assata Gilmore, shared the following statement with us: • “A phrase that I’ve repeatedly heard over the last few days in various contexts and conversations is “when things go back to normal”... Whether we like it or not things will never be normal again and we have a unique opportunity to dictate what our future will be. Black and brown students within our Purdue community and across the country are hurting and it is our duty as Boilermakers to stand with them. I challenge you all as student leaders to start fostering change within your own networks. Educate your members, have those difficult conversations and take action on injustice in addition to your statements of solidarity and words of encouragement.  In order to get through this moment and create a “new normal” that embraces diversity and prioritizes justice, we have to go through it together.”
