Our biggest priority is protecting our children, and part of that means making sure they know how to protect their rights. LCCR is working to make sure a lawyer is present during police interrogations involving young people, but until then, please help us spread these crucial tips!⁠

If you are arrested, DO NOT answer any questions about the alleged crime. Tell them, "I am using my right to remain silent. I want a lawyer.” And keep saying it until they listen!⁠

Even if you know you are innocent or you think you could easily explain yourself, DON'T DO IT. Your words can and will be used against you. Wait to talk with your lawyer, NOT the police.⁠
