Nebraska remained the unanimous No. 1 team in the AVCA/Taraflex Division I Women’s Volleyball Poll on Monday, extending its hold on the top spot after improving to 10-0.


The Huskers received all 48 first-place votes and totaled 1,560 points. Nebraska holds a 33-point advantage over No. 2 Pittsburgh, which is also unbeaten at 10-0 and received the other 15 first-place votes.


The top two teams remained unchanged from last week’s poll. Kentucky moved up one spot to No. 3 after entering the week ranked fourth, while Louisville slipped one position to fourth. SMU rounded out the top five for the second straight week.

Wisconsin stayed at No. 6, followed by Texas at No. 7. Florida made the largest move inside the top 10, climbing two spots to No. 8. Arizona State rose three positions to No. 9, and Purdue moved up one place to No. 10.

Tennessee was among the week’s biggest risers, jumping three spots from No. 16 to No. 13. Indiana, Kansas and Oregon also each climbed three places, checking in at Nos. 18, 19 and 20, respectively.

Several teams fell sharply in the rankings. Penn State dropped five spots from ninth to 14th, while Creighton fell five positions from No. 20 to No. 25 after going 0-3 last week, which included a loss at PBA against Nebraska. Stanford and Colorado each dropped four places, with Stanford falling to 12th and Colorado to 21st.

Nebraska has now been ranked No. 1 in each of the season’s first four AVCA polls. The Huskers' next match is at home at John Cook Arena on Wednesday to face Missouri in the resumption of their suspended match from Wrigley Field.
