For the longest time, I thought eating more protein meant I had to meal prep like a fitness influencer.
And YES, their meals look amazing… but sometimes I see the first 3 steps and my ADHD brain is already like, “Actually, never mind. I just won’t eat.” 😭
Here are 5 things that were making it harder for me:
1. Thinking every meal had to be a “recipe.”
Sometimes protein can literally be assembling 3 things on a plate. It does not need a tutorial. 😂
2. Buying ingredients that required too much prep.
If I have to chop, marinate, cook, AND clean afterward… there’s a good chance those groceries are becoming decorations in my fridge. 🥲
3. Trying to meal prep an entire week at once.
Sounds productive. Until I suddenly hate the meal I made 12 containers of. 😭
4. Believing “easy” food wasn’t good enough.
Pre-cooked, frozen, canned, microwavable, or ready-to-eat foods are STILL FOOD. Convenience is a tool, especially when executive dysfunction enters the chat. 🧠
5. Following meal plans that weren’t realistic for MY brain.
The “perfect” meal plan is useless if there are so many steps that I’d rather skip eating than make it.
Eating more protein doesn’t have to be complicated. We just need realistic options that work with our brains instead of against them. 🩵
That’s exactly why I created my ADHD-friendly protein guide: simple, realistic high-protein meals for the days when you do NOT have the executive function for a 12-step recipe.
🥣 Want to try it first? Comment “PROTEIN” and I’ll send you my FREE 5-meal protein guide.
And if you love the free one, I made a full guide with 50 easy high-protein meals for when your brain is asking, “Okay… but what do I actually eat?” 🤗💪🏼 #mealplan #adhd #adhdlife
