I finally met HBR editor, bestselling author, and Women at Work podcast host amyegallo. She is beyond cool and I am declaring her my friend. If you are here, she is back by popular demand as a Featured Speaker. Check her out Monday at 11:30 in Ballroom A. She will be talking about her amazing book Getting A

I missed her talk but hustled over to the book signing to finally meet author and thebrainybiz Melina Palmer. When I was on her podcast last year, we hit it off and I was moved by the impact my book A More Just Future had on her personally. If you like behavior science or want to sell/manage better, her books are must-reads and her podcast is a must-listen

The keynote address by sikhprof about his learnings and experiences as a Sikh American was a peak moment. I have never experienced my family's culture and faith outside of my community and definitely not in the workplace and definitely not in a #sxsw opening keynote (wha?!). Simran lit up the room with his brilliance while Happiness Labs host host / Yale professor lauriesantosofficial brought it home with her compassionate interview. A standing ovation moved me to tears. And thanks to Laurie, I got to meet him and he graciously signed 5 copies of his beautiful book The Light We Give.

I finally got to meet Katie Perera who is part of the team that builds the #MarchMagic that is SXSW. I am here because of her confidence in my capacity to inspire and teach. Thank you for picking me, Katie! So grateful and so fired up and so in awe of what she has created. Pulling this off takes a bold imagination.

An amazing impromptu introduction and conversation in the hallway with betsyfurler led me to her work and For All Abilities podcast advocating for workplaces that optimize for the strengths of all abilities. What a force. Will definitely be following her work.

I ended the day practicing my Featured Speaker session on Monday at 4 - CAN WE LOVE A COUNTRY WITH A COMPLICATED PAST? Let's fill up Ballroom A in the Convention Center with our curiosity, joy, and sense of justice. It's going to be a powerful mix of science and stories. You will leave with an evidence- hope based path forward.
