When writing my book, A MORE JUST FUTURE, I think I read it over and over a million times. But there was something so special about getting to read it aloud for the audiobook recording. Knowing you were going to hear my voice was an uncharted feeling for me. Writing is personal ... narrating is PERSONAL.

I was so fortunate to work with a dream production team of Tiffany Frarey frareyti and Cathleen Conte cat0998 Conte. They "got" the book and created an atmosphere where I felt I could read as my full self, voice cracking with emotion and all. As an avid audiobook listener myself, I was blown away to see firsthand how much behind-the-scenes work goes into making sure every word is pronounced correctly, every stomach growl is edited out, every sentence is uttered with intention.

It was an immersive, intimate week of hard work that we capped off with margaritas, hugs, and soulful goodbyes. Note that I made them crouch so you could see the Grammy awards in the back!

Not to mention that Ralph Macchio (!) was recording his memoir at the same time in the recording booth next to us. Wax on, wax off, baby!

The best part ... it's been incredible hearing from audiobook listeners that they feel like they are in conversation with me. Like we are growing together. Like I am speaking from my heart and soul and touching theirs. I really believe that's the way forward.

I hope you'll check out this 5 minute sample of the audiobook (click on he book link in my Linktr.ee bio)
