Peek inside Yoshitomo Nara’s milestone installation, ‘The Crated Room in Iceland/ Drawing Room.’ It’s one of seven works from his celebrated crate series, and it’s making its auction debut this month. Swipe to see it on view in the Grotto at #SothebysHongKong, bringing lines all throughout the Maison!

Nara’s crate transforms the shipping container into an intimate world reminiscent of his studio. It includes 97 drawings, alongside everyday props and a monumental billboard painting. Here, Nara subverts the traditional white cube of a gallery to create an immersive environment that offers a glimpse into his imagination.

See this ground-breaking work this weekend at the Maison before it goes under the hammer in The Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction, presented in partnership with celine, on 28 September. Plan your visit at the link in bio.
