Here are some of the latest ways the College is representing and supporting general practice, influencing policy and promoting patient safety.

✅We’ve developed a toolkit you can use to support our College's campaign “It Shouldn’t be This Hard” and encourage your patients to sign the accompanying petition.

✅College President Victoria Tzortziou Brown spoke in Parliament at the launch of a new cross-party report on primary care. The report backed a number of RCGP policy asks including a primary care investment standard and a primary care voice on ICBs.

✅We responded to NHS England’s consultation on proposed Multi-Neighbourhood Provider and Single Neighbourhood Provider contracting models to support neighbourhood health services. We support better integrated neighbourhood care but do not support the proposed contracting models in their current form.

✅We spoke out in the national media, including in The Times and the Telegraph, on blanket minimum wait times being imposed for treatment introduced by some ICBs, making clear these decisions should be based on clinical need.

✅We responded to NHS England's consultation on clinical risk management standards for digital health technologies, calling for updates to ensure they reflect how technology is now developed and used in general practice, including ensuring that general practices have sufficient clinical safety support where needed.
