Millions of people face deadly climate-related disasters as international aid programs are slashed. Floods in Nepal on Aug. 26 killed over 1,400 people and left thousands missing.

Aid cuts have weakened disaster monitoring in the Himalayas, affecting programs like SERVIR-Hindu Kush Himalaya. This program used satellites for disaster risk reduction but lost funding, increasing risks for millions.

The region has suffered economic losses due to extreme weather, with countries like Pakistan and India facing severe impacts. Experts warn that cuts to climate programs will have long-term effects, leaving vulnerable countries struggling to adapt and recover.
