Welcome to our CSULB COMM #SeniorSpotlight! We are highlighting Zarelia Carrera. ✨

Zarelia is a 2022 graduate who majored in communication studies. After graduation, she plans to apply for brand ambassador positions at small, local businesses in her hometown of Paramount, California. She also plans to attend cosmetology school to become a certified makeup artist.

Over the summer, she plans to travel to Mexico, dance to banda sinaloense on the beach, and enjoy mariscos with her family!

The best memory Zarelia had at CSULB was taking COMM 200 with Dawn Kelsey. After taking this class, she knew COMM studies was for her because she loved Dawn’s energy and passion she brought into the course. To this day, Dawn has strongly influenced Zarelia to persevere her career endeavors post-grad and to be resilient in all situations.

Lastly, Zarelia shares, "Connect with your professors and make friends in your classes. Also, remember that we are all in this together. ♥️"

Congratulations Zarelia Carrera on a great career at California State University, Long Beach and we wish you the best in your future endeavors!
