Today marks the 14th annual Car Free Day. Each year, Alfonso makes something of an effort to go "car free" or at least "car light" on this day, which isn’t all that difficult on a day he’s working from home or has an assignment in Manhattan.

To mark this year’s Car Free day, Alfonso decided to do something last week that he hasn't done in more than 20 years — travel from his house in Valley Stream to Newsday’s offices in Melville, and back, without a car.

Read about Alfonso’s full journey at the link in bio.
