Roomies, the Mississippi State Medical Examiner has released an autopsy report that is raising additional questions about the death of #NolanWells, whose cause and manner of death remain undetermined. _________________________
According to the autopsy report, no water was found in Wells’ lungs or airways, despite a grand jury report suggesting his death was consistent with an accidental drowning. The report also documents evidence of head injuries. Per newsnation, during a press conference, attorney Ben Crump and members of Wells’ family’s legal team shared additional information they say could help provide a clearer picture of what happened before the teenager’s death.

Crump noted that Wells’ last text message was sent on the night of July 3. Wells’ parents told the legal team that it wasn’t unusual, as Wells and his friends typically communicated through Snapchat rather than traditional text messages. However, Forensics expert Andrew Garrett, who was hired by the Wells l legal team, said he was able to recover nearly 300 Snapchat messages exchanged between Wells and his friends.

Garrett spent nearly 30 hours extracting the data from Wells’ phone. The forensic extraction also recovered GPS data, allowing Garrett to create a timeline showing the phone’s movements throughout July 4 and into the following morning, before Wells’ parents turned the device off.

Wells’ legal team shared a video illustrating the phone’s movements throughout the day and read aloud several Snapchat messages they considered potentially relevant to the investigation. In addition to the team’s review of the GPS data, Wells’ phone appeared to remain on the boat throughout the day, with Wells reportedly coming and going from the boat to use the device.
