#TSRBlackExcellence: Black Girl Magic ✨#Roomies, talk about starting young! At just 5 years and 337 days old, #PhoenixGiselleHicks became the youngest female yoga instructor after completing a 200-hour yoga teacher training course. The Houston, Texas, native not only made history but also earned a spot in the GuinnessWorldRecords 2027 book, which is available now.

Phoenix’s yoga journey began when she was just 3 months old, attending “Mummy and Me” classes with her mother. What started as a bonding experience eventually grew into a passion for teaching. Today, the now-8-year-old leads yoga classes for both children and adults alongside her mom.

“I love teaching classes with my mum,” Phoenix shared. “She inspired me to be a yoga teacher, so it’s fun when we get to teach together.” And becoming a certified instructor was no easy feat! Phoenix recalled being the only child in a class full of adults, where she studied anatomy, read books, wrote papers, attended daily classes, and completed practice teaching hours. _________________________
Despite the challenge, the young instructor says she feels “honoured and proud” when people allow her to lead them. She also hopes to inspire her community to find peace, relaxation, and balance. Her favorite pose? The tree pose, because balancing can be “a little tricky” but fun to practice.

She shared advice to her students that we can all use: “It’s okay if you wobble or fall, just try your best.” Congrats Phoenix❤️ SWIPE ✍🏾#TSRStaffAS 📷:(guinnessworldrecords phoenixgiselle thesydneyalexandria )
