#OutKast is taking legal action against Oakland rapper and producer #Ovrkast. over the similarity between their names.

According to @allhiphopcom, the company controlling trademark rights connected to #Andre3000 and #BigBoi filed a federal lawsuit accusing Ovrkast., whose real name is Silas Wilson, of trademark infringement and violating a previous settlement agreement.

The lawsuit claims Wilson agreed to stop using Ovrkast. by July 15 and change his stage name to Overkxst, but allegedly continued using Ovrkast. after the deadline. The complaint also notes that Wilson previously acknowledged some listeners have confused his name with OutKast, though he denied naming himself after the group.
