DAD, oh how I loved you so much. I loved learning this world through your adventurous and wild heart. I live this crazy life of mine because you pushed me to chase my dreams. Man we had some epic memories together, and there wasn't a single day that you weren't supporting me. I know life was so hard, but you never, ever quit. Thank you for helping shape me l, through all the good and the hard, into the man I've become. The world is spinning really fast right now without you, as every emotion keeps hitting me like a train. What I wouldn't give to hear your laugh just one more time. Man, this is hard.

- Eugene Marsh, whom everyone called Bill, passed away July 9, 2026 at age 79, of natural causes, in his home, right where he wanted.

My greatest moments with my dad were on the diamond. He was my ole ball coach for a decade, and not a day goes by that I don't think of those times. It's been one of the great joys of my life to now coach my own son, creating those memories all over again. And he was always counting the hours until the next game he could stream of my boys. He never stopped supporting his grandkids, even in the hardest seasons.

My entire childhood was spent climbing mountains, backpacking through forests, and repelling rocks with my dad, mom and sister. His adventurous drive gave us a love for the great PNW beauty, and some of our best moments are from those days. He was there to send me off to summit Rainier twice, which he had climbed many times, and was there to welcome my return.

As I write this, I am packing to go climb Mt. St. Helens with my son, for his first big summit, along with my sister, whom climbed Helen's with my dad and I as kids for our first big climb. Turns out it will be quite the memorial climb on 7/18.

His laugh was infectious, he liked everyone, he'd tell wild stories to anyone that would listen, worked his tail off, and loved the heck out of his kids and grandkids the best he knew how.
