A professor at Zhejiang University surprised students at an Open Day event by arriving in a jet suit, starting the engines and actually taking off in front of the crowd. 🚀😳

The flight system combines a backpack-mounted power unit with jet thrusters positioned around the pilot’s arms. Rather than using a cockpit or conventional controls, the pilot steers by moving their body and arms to direct the thrust.

Jet suits remain costly, challenging to operate and far from becoming a practical form of everyday transportation. But watching one take flight on a university campus makes this technology feel surprisingly close to reality. 🤯🔥

Would you ever try flying in a jet suit? 🚀
