Farts and rocket fuel have more in common than you'd think. But the problem isn't the chemistry, it's the amount.

See, farts contain hydrogen and methane, and both of those show up in real rocket fuel. SpaceX's Starship burns methane, while NASA's biggest rockets burn hydrogen. So we ran the numbers on what it would actually take to fill a fuel tank, and the answer involves more farts than any of us could produce in a lifetime.
