Please don’t let anyone tell you that having a kid will put an end to your travels— we’ve been very intentional about bringing our daughter Kira on our adventures and at 3 years old she’s been to over 20 countries on 5 continents.

When I was pregnant, I encountered lots of negative talk about how my « travel days were over ». But 3 years into my motherhood journey, I can (thankfully) say that raising a family and maintaining a travel lifestyle are NOT mutually exclusive. If nothing else, exploring the world with a little one in tow gives you the opportunity to see it with new (or at least less jaded) eyes.

I hate the pervasive idea that kids are a burden when it comes to travel and exploration, and after years of using my platform to encourage women to see the world solo (I’ve traveled to over 50 countries alone), I’ve also made it my mission to show that we can do it with kids if we so choose.

For those who say it’s pointless to travel with a child so young because they won’t remember the trip, let me remind you that their parents will and that’s super important, too. Seeing Kira live her best life in countries as far flung as Jordan, Morocco, and Singapore has made my heart sing.❤️

Regardless, travel aids your kids in becoming more resourceful, tolerant, and adaptable, which is a pretty great trade off if you ask me.🤷🏾‍♀️
