It is with heavy hearts that Catholic University Athletics and Catholic Men’s Lacrosse would like to share the loss of Coach Tom Lillis. Coach Lillis (94) became the Head Coach of the CUA Club Men’s Lacrosse Team in 1981 and was an integral part of what CUA Men’s Lacrosse has become today. Coach Lillis made life long impacts on not only the players he coached but every player that has ever been a part of the CUA Men’s Lacrosse program.

Coach Lillis also left a lasting impact on the campus of Catholic University as he helped build the Dufour Center, Centennial Village, and the Columbus School of Law.

Because of his impact, twelve years ago the Coach Tom Lillis Baggataway the Right Way Award was established and has been awarded every year since to the teammate selected by his peers that gives his very best to do it the right way. The teammate that best represents what it means to be a Catholic University Men’s Lacrosse Player and the person who brings our core values to life. All those qualities that Coach Lillis brought to Catholic University when he became the Head Coach.

Coach Lillis, you will be missed but your impact will continue to be a part of the CUA Men’s Lacrosse Program. Rest in peace.
